I love the playfulness of this object and how children interact with it! :D
The idea for the playground has been developed in collaboration between the housing “Kongevænget” and MONSTRUM.
Now I’m going to try a quick brainstorm for strong insights from the world of childhood. So, don’t expect to have a logic sequence in what I will write here.
My purpose with this project is to make them appreciate more the objects around them and print the DIY concept in their behavior, setting a clever way of consume in this society.
Children are very tactile and curious.
Alternative ways of learning are using these characteristic in their teaching methods.
The forms from the project should have characteristic that will allow the children to manipulate, to distort, to destroy and create new ones, making them to have the feeling of being in control.
I still feel that my project needs a strong evolution towards a more interactive final result.
Ok, I’ve posted the latest video I’ve made and it’s an intro to the further work I want to do. My thoughts are now more clear and I want to go on this interactive path in games. I will really struggle to have the IT support that I need for the programming part and for the sensor platform which I want to build. I will summarize here the directions for the further studio work:
Media: Web and installation/ offline platform
Visual Language: animation and illustration, complementary digital graphics and craft
Ways of engagement/interaction: physical interaction with projected forms on the wall, interactive play
Form and Materials - tbc
Composition - tbc
Grow Up With Me
An animation that stimulates creativity by allowing the objects around children to transform and adapt along with their evolution.
The interactive platform talks about the narrative possibilities through all kinds of media. It is introduced the concept of transmedia storytelling, which allows you to be non-conformist, creative and authentic. The platform is based on a narrative character which is manipulated by the public creating, in this way, an unique story every time. They turned the Web project into a installation. This is, what i think, a strong concept, when you can translate the work into other media.
The first step I took was to make a 30 seconds animation named Grow Up With Me that stimulates creativity by allowing the objects around children to transform and adapt along with their evolution.
I will post the video later.
